Seven Seas Water Group donates $150,000 to help provide scholarships for Florida Students
Tampa, Fla.– Seven Seas Water Group (Seven Seas) has contributed $150,000 to Step Up For Students, helping more than 18 Florida schoolchildren access the education option that is best for them. Seven Seas is a multinational provider of Water-as-a-Service® solutions , specializing in owning and operating decentralized water and wastewater treatment plants.
Since 2023, Seven Seas has generously funded more than 37 scholarships through contributions totaling more than $300,000 to Step Up For Students, a 501c3 nonprofit organization that helps manage the Florida Tax Credit Scholarship Program. The program, which is funded by tax-credited contributions from corporations, allows families to use the scholarship for private school tuition and fees, instructional materials, curriculum and other approved educational expenses, or to assist with transportation costs to a different public school. Florida students who are not enrolled full time in a private or public school can access the Personalized Education Program (PEP), which provides an education savings account (ESA) to fund the needs of those students.
“At Seven Seas, we are committed to making a positive impact in the communities where we work, live, and operate,” said Seven Seas CEO Henry Charrabé. “Our partnership with Step Up For Students allows us to contribute to the success of Florida’s future by ensuring children have access to the educational resources they need to thrive. We are excited and honored to be in a position to continue expanding our charitable efforts in supporting educational opportunities, as we believe that investing in students today is necessary to help create a brighter, more sustainable and successful tomorrow.”
Seven Seas celebrated this impactful donation at West Gate Christian School in Tampa, Florida, where company representatives had the chance to meet and talk with Step Up scholarship students about their academic achievements and why they enjoy attending West Gate Christian School.
“We are grateful for the continued support from Seven Seas Water Group,” said Step Up For Students CEO Gretchen Schoenhaar. “Thanks to their partnership with Step Up, more students in Florida will be able to access the learning options that work best for them.”
More than 380,000 K-12 students throughout Florida benefited from a scholarship administered by Step Up For Students this past school year. Scholarship values vary by grade and county, but average $7,800 and can be used at more than 2,100 participating schools.
